What does the backspacing do to how the wheels fit on 05-08 versus earlier ones? Any pictures mounted on a truck?

The offset of the earlier trucks are a lower offset, meaning they stick further than on the newer trucks.
So the newer trucks can put the late models on them and not have a problem, but not vise versa.
If you put the newer wheels with the higher offset on the older truck ,the wheels will be tucked under too far. I hoped i answered the question.

what is the actual difference of the offset? How much more will these stick out on an 08 than the stock 08 wheels?

I love how they look, AND it appears that they are pretty close to me.
