trip computer

I have a 99 SD and my trip computer dosent work I have herd you can fix them dose any body know any thing about it? I really dont want to spend lots of money on a new one.

I dont know if this helps but if it is a digital odometer/trip that goes blank.. There is a sticky in the electrical forum on how to solder a bad connection in the cluster.. Many people have done it with great results from what ive read.. Im just not sure if it applies to super duty..

Nope doesn't apply to the SD as the clusters are different and the SD didn't go digital until 2002. He's talking about the overhead console as thats the only digital unit on a 99.

thanks for the web site. I called ford and they told me that they dont just sell the computer they sell the whole consel and it is $450 for it. Thank you very much

Which is why this repair exists. The doors which frequently break off can't be bought separate either.
