I was wondering if the new 2008 F250/350 tailgate would fit on a 1999-2007 F250. I hate running and jumping up into the back of my pickup bed. I am going to bust my *** one day. I think that tailgate step is great. Also the stamped SUPER DUTY letters on the back is a plus. Looks awesome. Any knowledge on this guys?

 

 

I know that it can be done with a little modification, but I'm not quite sure how exactly...

 

It can definitely be done, you have to make a minor change to the hinge on the left hand side but other than that it's a fairly straight-forward swap....hardest part is finding a tailgate at a reasonable price

I did a little research and found out that you can sawzall the gate assist form the drivers side hinge of the 2008 tailgate and use your 99-07 default truck mounting hinge or simply replace your default 99-07 drivers side mounting hinge with an 2008 hinge and slip the tailgate right on. The 2008 mount hinge is round $7.00 and makes the install pretty straight forward. Thanks for the links powersrtoke73.
