2008 Ford Super Duty Four Wheeler Magazine's 2008 Pickup Truck of the Year

Well, I got my Four Wheeler Magazine in the mail today, and the 2008 Super Duty is the 2008 Pickup Truck of the Year. Their rankings:

1. 2008 Ford Super Duty Supercab FX4 ($51,925)
2. 2008 Hummer H2 SUT ($59,345)
3. 2008 Toyota Tundra Crew Max Limited ($47,895)
4. 2008 Dodge Dakota Crew Cab ($34,360)
5. 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie Quad Cab ($51,795)

Best of all, out of the seven staffers who tested the trucks, four of them picked the Super Duty as their favorite truck. Of the other three testers, one chose the Tundra, one chose the Ram, and one chose the Dakota.

If I had a scanner, I would scan the article, but alas my scanner is not Vista compatible.

A little information about the competition...

From the article...

In order to be eligible for an invite to our Pickup Truck of the Year test, vehicles must meet certain criteria, including, but not limited to, having a two-speed transfer case, having at least 500 production vehicles available in the U.S., being all-new from the ground-up or substantially revised from the previous model year with significant upgrades to the suspension or drivetrain, and available to the public by January 15, 2008. This year, our five-competitor field included the Dodge Dakota Crew Cab TRX4, Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie Quad Cab, Ford F250 Super Duty FX4, Hummer H2 SUT, and Toyota Tundra Crew Max Limited. Declining our invites for this test were Chevrolet and GMC with the Silverado and Sierra.

Yeah, it's my fault. You would think that I would know better, being an IT person myself. I upgraded 3 of the 6 computers in the house to 64-bit Vista Ultimate and now the scanner doesn't work. Oh well, it just gives me a reason to throw it away (ahem, recycle it) so I don't have to buy any more ink cartridges.

Doesn't anybody care?

I thought that this was pretty exciting. Everybody makes such a huge deal about Motor Trend's TOTY, and they don't even know trucks. Hell, they picked the Honda Ridgeline as TOTY in 2006 and it's not even a truck! It's just so nice to read an article where a Ford truck is spoken of so highly. It's a great read.

Good points. I'll have to try and track a copy down...
