Ford Harley f250/f350 year 2005/2006 wheel center hub cap

On a Ford Harley f250/f350 year 2005/2006 wheel center hub cap. Should the wheel hub cap be flush to the rim or about 1/2 inch away from the rim? I keep on loosing hub caps.

They will not go flush to the surface, about a 1/4" away. They are a pain, just make sure they are equal all the way around and snap onto each lug nut properly. I lost one on the way home from the dealer, they replaced it. But haven't lost one since and I have one locking nut as well.

Same experience. Lost one right after delivery and dealer replaced. No problem since (44,000 miles). Fits with a gap from the wheel. I have a habit of "kicking" the cap from time to time to make sure still tight.

F250 Harley Wheel Caps

Hello - I've lost a few of them myself. No it is not flushed to the surface of the wheel, approx 1/8" gap, it's the spring clips to the lug nuts, with the use of a rubber mallet, they can be seated properly. i know easier said than done, but i had to show the mechanic at the dealership how it's done, because every time i get my tires rotated, this is a problem.

i got my truck lifted about 10k miles ago - problem went away for good! poor design in my book!

thx
