F-250 / Super Duty / Diesel

We used to classify trucks by tonnage capacity.

We used to classify trucks by tonnage capacity.

A 150 was a half-ton and I believe the 250 is a 3/4 ton.

The rating could be upgraded by adding shocks and springs.

I wonder what my 2003 XLT F250 Super Duty is rated as.

Anybody know?

It's still considered a 3/4 ton.

.....but has a higher payload rating, like almost 3000 lbs! The new F-250 Super Dutys are what the old traditional (non- Super Duty) F-350s were and even more.

Who knows anymore???? My F350 (1 ton) has a payload of 5,420Lbs. I want to know if I've slept thru something .... when did 1 ton get that heavy?
