This went all over the net. It did not help the image of the engine as it was starting to repeat the 6.0L. I'm not saying the 6.4L is going to repeat the whole drawn out 6.0L path (nor have I ever said that it would), but I'm simply saying its had some growing pains right off the bat. Pure and simple Ford will be watching for programmers/chips/modules/etc on these engines VERY closely with the past track record of the 6.0L and the issues that the 6.4L has had to date. You need to quit reading so much into things, or do you need more assurance to make you feel secure about your new purchase? You seem to take everything pretty personally when anyone has said anything that even has a slight negative overtone to it about the 6.4L.

I'm all for taking risks, but theres a fine line between risk taking and wrecklessness. I'm not saying its the later in this case, but its a razor thin line between the 2 right. To me I'd have a hard time laying down $40-50k on a truck with an infant motor and then adding one of the first programmers to hit the market to it only to have my warranty voided if a major repair comes up. Next thing you know you could be stuck with a $10k repair bill on top of a truck payment (if you didn't pay cash up front). If thats your cup of tea thats great and more power to you. I just prefer not to have a potential $10k expense show up out of the blue.

I'm still trying to figure out where you think I told you what to do. I just pointed out that Ford is going to be watching really close and told you what has happened with the first gen chips from the last 2 engine debuts. Some people are simply not aware of this and then get blind sided when their engine goes or the dealership voids their warranty.

But since apparently I have a record of being a 6.4L hater.................Don't buy a 6.4L they're pure crap. Don't chip it or it'll blow up and make you lose your hair. Hey, if I'm gonna get bitched at for supposedly saying that I might as well at least say it.
HAHAHA!!! Awesome. Simply Awesome. I hear where you're coming from.

Hey freakyFx4...have fun with the guys who hate this or that. They either want one or haven't driven one yet. Seriously... I don't know s*&% about diesels or the history of the PSD. I've read and heard good/bad about this and that...

Hell...if you got the money and want to have a thrill (no matter what the cost ) DO IT!!!
