My engine light came on today. Truck seems to be running fine. I'm guessing it may be the dreaded emissions issue caused by the gas cap. Any way I can clear it (disconnecting the batteries, etc); or any other ideas/tips?? Thanks guys. I've learned a ton on this site!!

 

This being an 06, how about the wild idea of taking it to the dealership and have the code read to find out what it actually is instead of guessing. If its under the 36k warranty you're out nothing. Given the 6ohno's previous track record I wouldn't take any chances with codes being thrown.


If its not under the 36k warranty then yes, the way to clear the codes is to disconnect the batteries and turn on the headlights to completely drain the power from the system.
