just bought a set of hids and clear headlights but having a little trouble getting the whole housing off. has anyone done this before? thanks

There are some spring clips that hold the plastic retainers. They are a real pita to remove. I screwed up a couple changing mine.

 

how many are there?

i undid the torx screw head screws but they only push the headlight out.

are you talking about the little metal clips that go around the round nipple looking plastic piece?

 

Yes, those clips. I hope you know how many turns you moved the adjuster bolts, because thats what controls where your headlights point.

 

ok cool, ill give it another try in the morning.

readjusting the headlights i will need to do anyway since the beam for the hid is wider and the stock headlights are coming out.
