Chip question
Chip question
Hi guys. Has anyone had a problem with the transmissions in the 05-07 F-350's after putting a module like Bullydog or Edge in? I really want a module but dont feel like having to replace a 4,000 transmission.

Some programmers (Custom Tuners) can over power the 6.0. I won't name drop unless you PM me. There a few folks out there that provide nice safe power.
I have an Xcal II with custom tunes...and very happy with mine. I don't mind stock either but having that little kick will put a smile on your face and drop jaws at the stop lights.
if you have a ford certified installer do the work or a ford dealer the warranty stays intact

Nope, completely untrue. Dealers do alot of things that they say retains the warranty, but in all honesty voids it. Some dealers sell chips of different kinds, mine back home did. That one particular dealer would not void your warranty if you had their chip and was installed by them. You could take it to another dealer and they could see the chip and red flag it in the system. You could argue all you want with them that it was installed by a "ford certified installer" but they'd just laugh at you and show you IN WRITING where it states that anything that modifies the vehicle outside of its orginal operating parameters voids the warranty.
While you can chip a 6.0 and make it live its just as easy to end up with a blown up 6ohno on your hands. If I just ponied up $40k for a brand new truck that had a warranty I'd not put anything on it that voids said warranty. Heck you paid for it right? Wait until the warranty period runs out, then have fun. That was the nice thing about when I got my 7.3L that had the 100k PT warranty run out. Its also going to be nice not having to deal with that crap when the 12V goes in. Doubt I'll ever own a truck with a warranty.
