16.5 vrs 16/17 tire/wheel differences

I am looking to put tire and wheels on my 04 F250. I have been pricing different combos,a 35" tire with a 9" or 10"wide wheel, 16", 17", and 18"
sizes. 16" and 17" are OK but 18" combos are pricey. I started looking at a 16.5 BFG tire /MT Classic wheel combo and price is slightly less. My questions are: Is there any major difference between 16/17 vrs 16.5 in ride quality, load capacity, etc, are is it just an older size tire vrs newer modern tire sizes. Any info would be appreciated.

Yup, just an old school rim size. CanNOT mix with a 16 or 17inch rim.

the trucks ride stiff as it is. i originally had 18s on my truck and went to 17s, didn't notice a difference in ride. i also went to a taller tire, so that could have made a difference.

Wheels

I personally like 17" wheels. 18" are pricey. With a 16" and 16.5" wheel you can not go to a 37" tire in the future if you want to. I just spent about a month trying to decide what I like. Look at my pictures of my truck. That is what I ended up getting...

backspacing was an issue for my truck, i don't like the tires sticking out. my 03' f-250 this was not an issue.
