Mulch question----truck related

Ok, having a slight panic attack. I have a F250 with short bed...crew cab...

Does anyone know if I can fit a yard and one half in the bed?

Just standard mulch....

I put 1.5 in my old F150 but the bed was deeper than the the 250.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the quick help. Trying to help a neighbor out this weekend.

Ok, it's easy to figure out.

What's a yard? well it's a cubic yard, that's 3'x3'x3'.
That equals 27 cubic feet.
So a yard and a half would be 27 + 13.5 = 40.5 cubic feet.
Ok, what's the volume of your truck bed.
6.5' x 5' x 1.8' (approximately) = 58.5 cubic feet.

So yeah, you've got room to spare.
Heck you could put 2 yards in there.

Also, I'm sure mulch is light enough that your truck can handle the payload too.

Now if it was a yard and a half of gravel, you might wanna take it slow.

I love this forum. Thanks for the quick response. I knew i could do it but I was second guessing....sometimes at the "mulch" place they use the really big bucket and I get a little extra.

Last year, I got 1.5 yards of pecan shell, it had rained and it squatted my F150 about 5 inches. Made me nervous. Since my TT only squats my 250 a 1/2 inch, I feel better about the load.

Thanks again.

Yes you can. We fit 2 yards in the back of my buddy's Chebby 1500 short bed last week.

thanks everyone, I knew I could do it. Around here, we don't need the highway for this....we are lucky to have "supply house" withing 3 miles of the house and we use back roads that have a speed limit of 30. Plus, after they load in the truck they spray it with water. Pretty nice if you ask me.

Have a good Easter folks

Don't let em load it in the truck with the bobcat... I watched a guy's bed get crunched one day when the bobcat accidentally hit the bed
