POWERSTROKE may be missed by the sentimental, but good riddence!!

My 7.3 dit is a great engine. It was reliable and economical before uls diesel came out. Now my MPG sucks and I have seals leaking all over.

I have not talked to many people who don't agree that the 6.0 is a turd and rumor has it that the 6.7? is not much better.

Ford is hands down the best built platform on the road. Screw international, lets call Fiat and get a New Holland power plant for it.

***I know, Chester but who wants a green engine in their truck? ***

Ok, but why? Currently Fiat is using Iveco or CDC engines in most of the larger equipment which trust me, you don't want. I don't remember if the NH brand is making any of their own engines in the small compact tractors anymore or not. Trust me, I work in R&D on the NH/Case IH ag division. You so confusingly put (I think) that you don't want a "green" engine meaning one with all the EPA mandated parts on it. Well guess what, the Tier III emissions standard is a federal mandate by the EPA that covers any and ALL engines. All ag equipment has to be Tier III compliant by MY07. Your precious New Holland CR 9040/9060 combines with the "Fiat" powerplants became compliant in September, the CR 9070 was back in about May or June. The only way to get around the emissions is to buy older equipment.

If you think that all of this is bad, wait until Tier IV emissions hits in 2010.

Yea ditto on what Power Stroke said, I'm still trying to learn about all the complexities of the engines but from what I'm hearing the EPA will pretty much put an end to those out there who have a diesel just to have a diesel and with the complexities and expenses around the corner with all the standards only those who absolutely need one will have one.

You guys are taking this way too hard!! The JD green statement and the whole fiat thing was just a joke.

My point was that IMO Powerstroke engines have not been worth owning since they ditched the 7.3 so this may be a good time to ditch the name and get a better engine.
