Question 3-Valve V-10?

In what model year did Ford switch to the 3-valve V-10? And can I assume the same model years for both SD trucks and the Excursions?

Thanks for any help guys.

Purdy sure it was the 2v with the 4R100 in the '05 ex.

Thanks guys. Appreciate it. I have found an '05 Excursion with 19k miles. I am thinking about selling my KR 150 and buying the Exc. I could use the extra beef to pull my travel trailer. I drive a company vehicle back and forth to work now so the gas mileage is not a big deal. I will only put about 4-5 k a year on it.

Other than the obvious, what's the real world difference between a 2 and 3 valve engine? In other words, could someone drive a 2 and 3 valve engine back-to-back and notice any difference?
