Best year for a used F-250 V10

Hey all- I'm currently in the market for a used F-250. I've decided to go with the V10 because I think it'll be the best fit for me. I have a short commute, but sit in a lot of traffic. I'll tow maybe 10 times a year and throw my motorcycle in the back quite a bit. I typically average only about 12K miles a year, if that. Plus I love that engine

Anywho, is there any particular year I should be looking at? I've seen a couple of really nice 2003 with low miles in the low 20K's. But consumerreports.org has some negative marks for 250's earlier than 2005.

I trust the people here, though so any advice would really be appreciated. It sounds like my truck is sold so I need to move quickly!

Thanks!

I would look for an 05 or up due to the 3valve engine with more power.

Oh, that's right. I forgot about the 3 valve engine. I heard that's the shizzle.

Thanks!

One of my friends talked me into it. I had a 7.3 back in '96 and had a lot of trouble with it and swore I'd never have another diesel because of the trouble I had in the winter with it. Oh well... I've had no problems with the 6.0 and do enjoy getting better mileage. On the down side it is much more expensive and not near as fun to drive as the V10 was. If I have any problems with my 6.0 I won't hesitate to go back to the V10. I REALLY REALLY liked it. There are pics of it in my gallery.

Man those V10's are very hard to find. There can't be that many of them out there?Either that or no one wants to sell them.
