Dirk Upson did you get bigger tires? Don't let some people steer you away from bigger tires! You will like the ride and looks.

Please post before and after pictures, and any difference in mileage.
I'm looking at changing to the same tire size as you are. Only difference is I have the V10 with 4.30's.

I just replaced wheels and tires on my 05 F350. I went from the stock 275/70/18 to new BFG A/Ts sized 305 / 65 18. They are wrapped around pro comp 6089 wheels. The 305s are only 1.5 inches wider and 0.5 inches taller, but they improve the look of the truck dramatically.

finally got my new wheels and got them mounted on some 315-70-17 bfgs. the truck looks so much better. the truck feels a little more solid than before. don't know if it is the tires or the fox shocks. i will try to get some pictures after i wash the truck, if anybody cares.

You will be spoiled now. I wish we could purchase the truck from the factory with larger tires and better shocks. Now watch your speed! With the better ride I always find myself about 12/20 mph faster because you don't feel the bounce and roll anymore. Good luck with your tires and shocks. The best thing is watching my wife get in my truck now. What a challenge now wait until I get 37" tires.

my wife says i can't take the steps off because it is to hard to get in. as far as going faster, gas is to expensive in california to do that.the shocks were expensive , but worth it. tires don't even come close to rubbing on anything.the wheels i got people either like them or think they are ugly.

The people that don't like them are jealous.

Thumbs up

actually the factory 20s are 34 inches tall they are just narrow. the "rancho" shocks are junk.

Friday our area was hit with ICE,SNOW and SUV's. This was the first time I got to drive the truck with the new tires and leveling kit. What a difference! When the truck was stock the rear end was very high in the air and I felt the truck was doing a nose dive. I had to put six bags of 1/4" stone over the read end. The truck was a handful just getting to work in 4x4. Friday I got up after being called in to salt the roads. With one eye opened started it up put it in drive and I never used 4x4 and had no weight. 100% better results. This was the best money spent. I still have not noticed a drop in my power range or mileage. If there is I cant feel it! I had my speed odometer checked with vascar and it is 2 MPH faster than the truck reads.

These trucks do ride significantly better with larger tires on them, just remember that your new tires are probably not E - rated like your old ones. Not a problem for normal driving, but i wouldnt put 3,000 pounds in the bed or tow a 15,000 pound trailer with it unless the tires have the proper load rating.

The tires are D rated and I pull a 10,000 lb trailer. Later when I retire and just pull a trailer the off-road tires will be gone. I just decided that before I am too old to get in and out of my truck I want larger tires and a 6" lift kit.
