Thumbs down Broke Into the Truck

Came home today from work on the bike (been staying with the girl for the past three nights) and found that some outstanding member of society had gone into my truck without permission. Looks like he took a screwdriver and shoved it into the keyhole and twisted it till it broke loose.

Our little Darwin award winner didn't touch a thing from the truck, also apparently didn't take the time to notice that I don’t keep a single thing in the truck aside from an owners manual to avoid this specific problem.

So now when you lock the truck all you have to do is stick any key in the door and turn it and wala it opens, I now have a universal key. Was wondering if anyone might know how much it costs to replace that or how hard it is to get to it, I've removed door panels on my old Ranger and F150 before but neither had power windows. Found online parts stores that had the assembly for the rear doors for between 15-29 but those weren't the ones with key. Anyone have any experience with this or had a similar issue and remember how much of your paycheck you happily handed over to the dealership for repair?

Appreciate the advice Fanuc but I think it's beyond a locksmith. Went and spun the lock 360 at the gym tonight and the entire cyclinder fell into the door, at least now someone can't just come up with a random key and unlock the door.

Talked to my service rep at Riata and the assembly is 50 and the cylinder is 59 plus they want an hour of labor but I'm just gonna do it myself.

Heres my experience

some jack stick decided they could break into my truck useing the old chevy trick. but the handle is bolted to the truck, so the just chipped the bottom of the handle, and left a nice 1" long crease in the body.

And now the handle will pull away from the body if you pull on it too hard, and it will never be like it should, so ill likely just shave the handles sometime in the next year.

But I do have some goodies in my truck that people could be jealous of....
