Best sounding exhaust? 5.4L F250

Just picked up an 05 F-250 and i want to change the exhaust on it and i'm wondering which one sounds best. I love the way my 4.6L mustang sounded with the SLP exhaust and would like to get something similar. I will either do a cat back or just cut the pipes and weld in a muffler, Flowmaster 40 series? I'm not concerned with the performance gain, just want to make it a lot louder.

How does it sound? Loud is what i'm looking for but i don't want it to sound like the muffler fell off, popping on decel, etc.

It's a F-250 with a 5.4 and you want it to sound like a Mustang?

And you say you aren't concerned with performance gain, but what about the perfemance loss you'll realize (and can't afford) opening up a smal gasser like that? Loud and slower is what it sounds like you're going for. If so, cool!

The 5.4 is very similar to the mustang motor so why not make it sound similar? I'm not really considering straight pipes, probably will go with flowmasters, which won't hurt performance, just move the torque curve a little. Just asking for opinions on sound quality, actually i've heard the magnaflows sound better than flowmasters so i may consider those. What i meant about not being concerned about the performance is a don't care if one muffler gives me 10 hp versus another giving me 5 hp. If a want it to pull harder or accelerate faster i'll throw a a supercharger on it next week and call it a day. I don't really need all that power though this is just my commuter vehicle that i drive 40 miles back and forth to work each day (doing my part for global warming).

I seem to be one of the only borla fans, but in my opinion, that is the best sound. Side exhaust is another + for looks, sound, and total length.

I cut off the muffler and put a 3 inch aeroturbine in its place. No performance loss, no gas mileage improvement, but the muffler was free, and it sounds great. There is a slight resonance at 45 in top gear, but it is gone at 50. Really quiet on the highway, no drone, but pretty loud around town, but in a good way. No popping on decel. I would recommend just because it sounds different from all the other mufflers out there.

maybe you should try and contact SLP because they make an exhaust for the f150, maybe they are coming out with one for the 250. I know what you mean about the SLP though Ihave it on my mustang and it sounds great. I had borla on my old truck and it was pretty quiet until you really got on it. I have roush on my new truck and it is much louder than the borla. if you want loud just get some super 40's, ive heard some f250s with them and they sound pretty mean
