To afe or to excallibrate

ok, after doing some research and getting your advise on the intakes, it looks like the new AFE magnum stage two is the best aftermarket air intake system for our F-250 diesels. It boasts up to gains in HP of 50. It also costs about as much as a tuner from troyer. I want both but for now am willing to spend the 400.00 to 500.00 on one. what would you guys do first the tuner or intake?

i would recommend the intake first. if you want a tuner its highly recommended to get gauges and exhaust as well so you dont blow your tranny

I agree... intake, exhaust, gauges, then chip or tune. You'll need gauges to monitor your egt's (exhaust gas temp) so you don't cook your turbo. If you go with the XCal2 they will take your intake & exhaust mods into account when they write the custom tune for your truck.

The gauges

are already in. egt, boost, and tranny temp. I went ahead and ordered my intake already and that should show up in a day or two. I guess the exhaust will be next up. What would you guys recommend in that department? Is one exhaust better than the other? They all seem to be very expensive. I definately want the SIDO set up.

Thanks for the advise
