BBB Diminished Value

Guys,

I am getting ready for my BBB Autoline arbitration hearing, and I wondered how I can prove diminished value??

I have had an oil leak on my truck, which has continued after 5 trips to the dealer. They cannot seem to pinpoint the source, it is the top of the motor, the back of the motor, the front of the motor, etc....

So I filed the BBB paperwork, and Ford offered to "give" me a new truck, with mileage charges. I drive my truck a lot, so the charges would have been astronomical based on a service life of 100,000 miles. I mean there own ads show a service life of 250,000 miles. So I said no, I will take arbitration, and ask for a new truck since in Fords own paperwork , and the BBB rules for Louisiana, no mileage is charged for replacement trucks.

I have my RO's which indicate leaks and repair attempts, a total of 5. I have pictures after each visit starting on the 2nd visit to match to the RO's. The final piece of the pie for lemon law and BBB is showing that there is diminished value.

The truck still leaks a spot the size of a dollar bill every night. So I figure that if I disclose a mechanical issue when trying to sell the truck no one in there right mind would purchase, but how do I prove that in the arbitration format.

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

GOOD LUCK....I just wne thru the arbitration myself. It was unfair, B.S. and the arbitraitor said the problem wasnt "bad enough" to cause a safety issue or diminish the value of the truck.

To me, an problem at all, is "bad enough". I had more paperwork than you could imagine and he still denied my case. If I were you, I would try to work out a deal with Ford to get a new truck without paying the mileage. If the arbitraitor denies your case, then you will get nothing from them or Ford.

Dude,

I settled with them. It was a fair settlement, and I didn't have to worry about the arbitrator being a putz..

Wish your deal would have gone better.
