Help finding 12volt switched ignition

I've probed the only red wire w/yellow tracer and am getting nothing, so I went ahead and tapped it with a 6inch wire just to be sure I'm getting a connection and still no power when the ignition is on? Is there another wire to look for as I've probed all sorts of connections and can't find the switched ignition. I have an 06 F-250. Perhaps the tap did not break the plastic sheathing? Can I be sure that the red w/ yellow tracer is switched ignition? If so I will hook up gauges. I did find the dash lighting with no probs so I know my meter is working.

Thanks for any help
Scott

I'm hooking up my gauges. Trans and Pyro for now. Did you own an F-150 at one time? I recognize your screen name.

Wait until you try wireing something to the VSM!
It took me two days just to find it.
