Fog Light replacement Bulbs

I have a 06 FX4 superduty and in the owners manual the the fog bulb that is listed is a 9145 so I did some searching and found a cross reference for this bulb with a 9005. Have any of yall used a 9005 in the fog lamps or any other bulb besides a 9145.

thanks

Nick

The 9005 is not a cross, or direct replacement. It's a hotter bulb although the socket is almost exact; close enough it will plug in. A lot of people use them though.

Silver Stars now come in 9145 if you're looking for those.

Thanks Family Ride, for the help and info. My reason for asking is I own a company called VolkerMotorSports, LTD. and I recently picked up 3 HID Lighting companys (Blinglights, Philps, McCulloch) soon Helios&Bohmen and was going to install 2 Kits in my 06 Superduty 9008/H13 headlights and Fog ? and no manufacture offers a 9145 I'm trying to find a replacement? I test fitted both 9005 and 9006 in the lense this weekend and found the 9005 to be the best fit due to the diameter of the base and the 3 tabs location only minor trimming needed. I've done this before with my 02 Harley F-150. I made custom fogs that originally took H10's and made 9006 HID's to fit. If interested in HID's or know anyone who is let me know.

thanks

Nick
