hey, my dad has a 04 f350 with the 6.0, banks kit with the six gun, exhaust, bigger air to air coler with pipes, etc... every time we go on a trip and tow a trailer(fully loaded, or empty) it dumps out coolant, first time it was a few quarts, this time it was over 7 quarts... anyone else see this happening at all???any info would be great!

 

Welcome to the world of 6.0L trucks. This has been a problem since day one. Best thing he can do is turn off the 6 Gun as thats one of the things aggrivating the condition.

try the diesel garage topics over there on coolant pucking a plenty also are you watching your EGT and turning to setting 1 when towing


also 04 and early 05 PSD had head gasket problems try reducing you coolant overflow to min mark when hot
