Why is diesel so high?

I wish diesel was cheaper around here. I'm happy to find it at $2.54 a gallon.

I had a F350 with the 6.9 diesel back in the mid 80's and diesel was more expensive back then than regular, in fact for the most part since the 70's diesel has ALWAYS been more expensive than regular gasoline

there was a time between say 2002-2004/2005 that it was slightly cheaper than regular. I dont know why that was, but that is atypical

it is cheaper to produce, but it also has more tax on it than gasoline

its taxxed higher because the trucks which use it do more damage to the highways than gasoline vehicles

I feel bad for all the truck drivers who are operating their own machinery, that's gotta be hitting them hard in the pocket book.

Nope they are getting addition surcharge that we pay for when we mail and order items.
