Question Help with prices on 97 250/350!

Hey guys,
Was wondering what's up with some of these prices I see for older SD's (1997 250 or 350 XLT CC 4x4 PSD to be exact). Like $20K+ at dealers for ones & mileage doesnt seem to matter, the lower obviously the higher the price tag. These guys aren't even in the blue book realm for dealer pricing! I am not trying to steal one from somebody, but it seems that the 99's to 01's I can get for about the same cash as those 97's. I realize that they were the last year of that body style, but it's not like they are classic Mustang (yet!). Can anybody shed some light on that?

The 94.5-97 (OBS) trucks have a very loyal and large following. I too would pay more for a OBS truck then a SD. I have never liked the SD as much as the OBS body style.

If you're planning on upping the HP on the truck then find a 99-00 SD truck. There are way more bolt on parts for the SD line than there ever was for the earlier trucks. The same parts will work, but its not a simple bolt on deal usually. Even my early 99 SD most stuff isn't a direct bolt on as its half 97, half 99.

They were very good trucks with a still large demand.

Thanks for the input guys I appreciate it! I had seen a beautiful 97 350CC 4x4 Diesel w/73K on it at a dealer for 22K. Just thought that it was really high since I had just bid on a 04 SD equivalent for 26K. High miles for an 04 though at 50K. I plan on leaving whatever I get bone stock so bolt ons are not really an issue. Just still like the tough look of the OBS's.
