Found my block heater

When I bought my truck last month and the dealer told me it does not get cold enough on the east coast to have a factory block heater installed.I crawled under the truck and found the heater, followed the wire loom to the front and there was the plug .Salesmen,go figure.

All come with block heaters, but not all states come with the powercord. I do not believe NJ is on the list for the cord, so the salesman would be kinda right.

Here is what I have found on trial and error for the best use of the block heater. I have a short as possible 12 gauge cord running to a timer good for at least 1000 watts. If it is below freezing, I have the timer come on 2 hours before I plan to leave. Nice hot start, and a toasty defroster right away.
