F250 5th wheel towing
Looking for 5th wheel towing information concerning the ride height of a 2000 F250 extended cab, LWB 4X4 SD with respect to towing a 5th wheel. Does the ride height of the truck have to be lowered? What does the ride height of the bed measure from the ground to top of the bed at the rear wheel?
I don't have a 5th wheel, can't help but you can try this site www.ford-diesel.com they've got lots of SD members over there towing 5th wheels.

Stang,
I tow 12,100# 5th wheel with my 4x2 SD CC F250. The only ride-height problems I've heard about are with the 4x4 SD.
Trailer Life magazine did a report on that a year or so ago. They reported that your friendly Ford Truck dealer would lower your 4x4 FREE if you were having 5th wheel clearance problems.
Since I had a 4x2, I didn't pay attention to the part numbers for the lowering kit.
If you don't have a 4x4, you shouldn't have any problems.
