Thinking of going 150 -> 250
Looking at getting rid of my 150 - see sig, and picking up a silver 01, psd 6sp, reg cab F250.
Difference in pmts is about 200/mth more, and man am i struggling to decide on this one.
Just posting to see if anyone can convince me to stay or go with the new truck.

Biger is better
go and get the 250 if you can handle the payment on it.

There's nothing wrong with the bigger truck. I was faced with a similar decision when I was buying a new truck. Should I go with the F150 or F250 SuperDuty..
I chose the the F250. Reasons:
-More interior space, (especially in the supercab rear seat).
-slightly taller truck (comparing 4x2's)
-I may be looking into getting a TT camper later on.. So I have more options with the F250.
- I really wanted a 5sp tranny..
- I like the look of the SuperDuty vs. F150.
- There was only about $700 difference in the price. (F150 vs. F250 with 5.4L) I paid for it outright, no payments..
Every day I drive my Superduty, I know that I chose the right truck..
However, $200 more a month is ALOT.. If you don't really need the pulling power of the PSD, then you could probably get an F250 with the 5.4L for roughly the same payment you have now if you trade in or sell your F150. The power of the F250 with the 5.4L feels about like the F150 with the 4.6L.

I'm considered a 250 instead of getting a 150 supercrew when I decide to trade in a few years. If I go for the 250 it'd be a crewcab and maybe a diesel depends on fuel costs for mileage difference vs. payments, what I didn't like with the supercrew is the bed is too small for my liking. If you can afford the $200 a month more and can get what you want in the 250 I say GO FOR IT! It is more truck for not that much more money.

I'm pretty sure i want to go this way - the diesel is just for the 6sp, so i'm going to wait until the 2002 model year, when the 6sp is avail on both the 5.4 and the v10.
unless that psd comes to be a good deal, which being a reg cab, i don't think anyone is going to buy it.
Thanks

When I bought my new super duty last month I started out wanting a super crew. After a few months of deciding on optoins and colors etc. I was sure I was ready to order a new Screw. went to the lot(took the wife) and walked around, was showing her the Screws and all, when she turned around and said "I like that one" It was a '01 F-250 super duty XLT crew cab 4x4 offroad 5.4L 4:10LS auto with maual hubs and T-case toreador red with silver accent gray cloth. And she said "it is the same price as that supercrew, why would you buy a 150 when you can get twice the truck in a 250 for the same price? That is all it took for me, I liked the superduty better to start with. Just thought she'd like the smaller truck(easier to manuver and drive) So I've had the above mentioned truck for about a month now(1600 miles) and I (we) love it. But I knew I would as I work at the dealership as a Technician. So I knew what I was buying. And we don't have near as many problems with the Superduties as we do with F-150s. If you can afford it get the superduty!!!
Wow, what a decision! I too had that choice to make about a year ago. I had an F150 4x4 SC 5speed V8 Flairside that I absolutely loved. No way was I ever gonna get rid of it. Then my husband said, just drive a 6speed diesel. So, me thinking, what's it gonna hurt, went and test drove one. I was completely sold and as soon as I'd completed my research on options, I ordered the truck I'm driving now. Let me tell you, it's WAY more truck than the F150 was. And I love driving it even more. Ok, I did have to add a Superchip and a few more goodies
Go with the Superduty and if you want a reg cab then get that. Don't worry about resale, with it being a PSD, someone will buy it. A few months ago, my brother wanted a used PSD and it had to be a long bed, reg cab. He didn't care how much $$ either, that's what he needed for his work situation. He looked until he found one. So get what you want!! Also check out the diesel site www.ford-diesel.com
