Post Axle-Sterling & Dana

I am trying to find out the part numbers that I need to to change my ring and pinion from 3.73's to 4.30's. I called a local Ford dealer and they said they were 3 different axle numbers for my early 99 F-250 superduty for the front alone. I went outside and looked under my truck and wrote down every number I could find on the differential but nothing matched what he (parts guy @ dealer) had.

1. Does anyone know where I can find this information?
2. Does anyone know what the numbers should be?
3. Does anyone know where I can find aftermarket 4.30's?

This whole thing with changing out the gears is really a pain in the butt.

Richmond does not make 4.30's, at least for the Superduty! Nor does anyone else that I have found!

Thanks,
Mitch

Interesting...

My wife is considering swapping the 4:30's in her 2000 250SD 4x4 to 3:73's. My unanswered question is this:

Is it just a ring and pinion swap?

What's up Mitch.....Look at my topic, can you help me??

Talked to MJ yesterday and he told me your truck was running 12.50's.........That means 15.50's right?

I don't know the answer to your question but I'm sure if you post this question on ford-diesel.com you would get more responses.
