WARANTY INFO?????
ENGINE AND TRANS WAS REPLACED IN F250 BEFORE THE TRUCK WAS TRADED. DOES THE WARANTY START OVER FROM THE DATE THEY WERE INSTALLED? THEY WERE REPLACED WITH FACTORY NEW (HOPEFULLY)
TINA,
THANKS FOR THE INFO. I'M LOOKING AT BUYING AN F250 DIESEL/AUTO THAT HAS HAD THE ENGINE REPLACED ABOUT 8,000 MILES AGO. AND WAS TOLD BY SOMEONE ELSE THAT THE WARANTY WOULD START OVER ON THE ENGINE AND TRANS.

I had an engine replace on a car once, warrenty did not start over. It kept the same warrenty as it had to start with even though the engine was brand new.
I'd say to check with whoever did the work on the truck, If Ford, they may have some type of "extra" warrenty for the new parts. Like a one year warrenty on their work & parts. Which engine do you have???

A diesel is another story. Find out what was the matter with the first engine. How many miles was on it before it was replaced. Diesels are warrentied for 100k. What year is this truck? also check out www.ford-diesel.com With diesels lasting so long and with a new engine, even if you don't have any warrenty left from Ford, they are a pretty good buy. And with the info you can get from the diesel board, most people don't take their trucks in to Ford but fix them themselves.
TINA,
THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION. THE TRUCK I WAS LOOKING AT IS A 99 F250 DIESEL/AUTO. I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY 99 F150 AND WAS LOOKING TO TRADE OUT OF IT. BUT HAVE NOW DECIDED TO GET MY TRUCK REPLACED IF I CAN. I AM REQUESTING DISPUTE SETTLEMENT BOARD REVIEW MY TRUCK. MAYBE I CAN GET A REFUND OR RELACE MY TRUCK. EVEN THOUGH I WOULD LIKE THE DIESEL I'M GONNA HOLD OFF A WHILE. THANKS FOR THE INFO.
