Question Power steering

I just recently drove a friends 2001 350 SC with V10. One of the things that really struck me was that the power streeing was real easy. I could 'Palm' the wheel real easy, even at a stand still. I have never been able to do that on my '99'250 SC with V10. I pull a 30' 5th wheel and have always disliked the high effort required to maneuver the wheel at slow or stopped situation (I can,t palm the wheel) My question is: Did Ford change something in the newer versions? Or, do I have a problem?

Your friend is lucky. Many of us are suffering with "weak" power assist at slow speeds or when stopped. Seems to be a common complaint from both gas & diesel owners.
