Replacement Headlight Bulbs??
The factory headlight bulbs are ok but looking for something better, brighter, possibly blue-er, for my 99 SuperDuty. Has anyone moved on to something other then the factory headlight bulbs? Results?
Thanks! :-)

Hi Chris,
Sure you can do that, a lot of us have. One thing to remember though is that you'll also want to install an aftermarket wiring harness too, which are available from the same places that sell the higher-wattage bulbs, at least, the better places.
The wiring harness is easy to install, and what it does is wires the lamps stright to the battery, with 30-amp fuses inline as well, so you have full protection. These harnesses cost less than $70 most places, and are the key to being able to run those high-watt bulbs for prolonged periods without burning up your factory harness as cphilip came close to doing.
You should be able to get all of that from Roger Lemere, who runs teh F-150 Online Store here, and you can reach Roger out in California directly at: 916-361-2510. If by some chance Roger can't hook you up, give us ac all and let us know, and I can give you another source, but Roger should be able to handle this for you I think.
Soon you should be enjoying all the benfits that we are, I'm running 4-100 watt bulbs in my Mark 8 on both low and high beams, and that really lights up teh night compared to the stock 100 watt low beams, and 130 watt high beams. (4-lamp system)
By the way, if you have Ford's "Autolamp" feature that automatically turns on the headlights, it will still work with these harnesses & bulbs.
Good luck!
