Post an itty-bitty lift

I need only a 1 inch front lift on my '00F350 to make it almost level. What's the best way to do this. Jack-It says they have a 2" front shackle only for the front springs. This would of course give me my 1 inch lift. It seems this may straighten out the front driveshaft angle a bit but wouldn't it throw off my caster? Or is this not enough to worry about.
What about add-a-leaf? I've seen 2" lifts and more with add-a-leafs. Can't I just get half the leaves for a 1" lift? Does anyone do this? Would I need new U-bolts for this? I already have the X-springs in front but I still want 1" of lift.

Thumbs up

I waited to answer this to see if anyone had any info for you. Since you haven't gotten any, and I don't know anything about lifts either, I figured I could at least send you where you could get the info. Try www.ford-diesel.com They will know

SUperlift has a nice kit. As does Rancho. If I am not mistaken, Rancho even allows you to use the factory shocks! (just don't quote me on that one) http://www.superlift.com/ford3.htm
The kits for the 2inch leveler are not too expensive. I would purchase a kit instead of trying to piece-meal something together. You spent 30k for the truck, another $300 for a kit made correctly should not be too big a deal. :-)

Ford allows enough play in the front end that you should not have to worry about any angle problems. Heck, I've seen 8inch lifts in the front of the SD's without any shaft mods.

Have Fun.
