33's or 35's for a Super Duty?
I'm having a tough time deciding what size tires to put on my new super duty when I get it. I plan on putting one of the small leveling lift kits on the truck and nice wheels and tires. My question is does everyone think that 33x12.5x16.5 tires will be to small and not balance the look of the truck out right. Or should I just put 35's on the truck and be happy. I plan on getting the V10 with 4.30 rear end.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

chris,
I plan on using either the superlift 2 inch leveling kit or the trailmaster 3 inch kit. I'm getting the V10 so won't have the extra weight of the diesel to contend with up front. I'm hoping either one of these will allow me to use 35's if I decide to go that big. I'll probably use BFG AT's in either the 33 or 35. I've had good luck with them as long as you rotate them often.

If you are planning on putting a 2" leveling kit in the truck, I would recommend 35s.
I have the 2" Superlift with 35x12.50 bfg MTs
on American Eagle rims. I was originally going to put 295s (33x10.50s) and the just looked too small.

I had 33's on my truck with the 5inch lift and they were way to small. Went to the 35's and they look alot better. If you are going to go with a lift go with the 35's, if you don't lift it you should be able to run 33's with no problem. I ran 33's for 6months with no lift and really didn't have any problems.

Hey 4X4,
What did you need to do to recalibrate your speedo? I am in the process of installing a 6" ProComp lift on my Excursion and will be installing 35x12.5x16.5 BFG AT KO's on it. For now I will have to live with the 3.73 rearend until I can find the time to drop in a 4.30. What ratio are you running?

I am running 4.10's at the moment. All you have to do to get the speedo redone is to take it too your ford dealer and tell them you want it recalibrated for the 35's. Some will do it, others won't. It really is a simple process and shouldn't cost you more than 50.00. Hey e-mail me with a pic of your ride, sounds like its going to be awesome. e-mail at cfadal@ev1.net
