Well, its about time GM did something to compete in this big boy market. Competition will only benifit us all and make us stronger. Its a nice unit no doubt, but follower's never lead. Thanks for the info.

If they're "meatier' than a Superduty, they had better have a SOLID FRONT AXLE! Everyone knows that a tough truck begins with a Solid Axle. We'll find out whether this "Durajoke" is good or a pile of @#$% like the 6.5L was/is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My father-in-law will be really happy to see that GM will (may) have a decent truck in 2001.
He has a cap that reads, "I'd rather push my Chevy than drive a Ford." I guess that sums it up
He thought his new Suburban was something until he saw our truck Now he has second thoughts.
I'm interested in that Allison Automatic tranny. Maybe it'll put some power on the road.

Blah blah blah,

No solid axle. Another S-10 clone on female steroids.
Ch*v* never had it, never will.

Pretty nice if you want a $30k interior surrounded by nothing.

What a joke,We have been plowing snow for 20 years with the same trucks. An 80F350,85F250,86F250,88F150 all have C6 auto,s best trans ever. These trucks still run great. You gotta love those cute litle cv booties on chevys. An 8 foot plow puts the front end on the ground and the truck in the shop.I dont have a plow on my 99F350SD.I will wait till one of the old ones die ,that could be a long wait "OLD FORDS FOREVER"

chrisford, I'm glad to see that someone else besides me thinks the same about the GM "truck" front ends. I made the mistake of putting a plow on one. After the usual replacement parts, tie rod ends, idler arm, ball joints, shocks... the front end was fine, for a while. The worst part was getting GM to own up to the problems and replace the parts under warranty. My favorite saying from GM was " two of the ball joints are marginal, well put them back in and you pay for alignment." That was my last GM too. I now drive a Y2K SD F-250, end of problems.

Hey guy who previously posted, (I can't say your name) are you really that pathetic to hang out on a ford website and try and rip us apart with your C**** comments? We're proud of our trucks as you are but this is a FORD site and we talk about FORDS here. Get a life!

What's up with those mirrors on the Chevy? Can you say.....FUNKY!? Looks like they tried to imitate Ford's TT mirrors but did a horrible job! I hope those won't look anything like final production mirrors. I must admit, I've always owned Chevrolet in the past, but after seeing those pics I'm sure glad I went with Ford!

Sweet99Chevy,

Surely you did not think that someone here would embrace the new C**vy?

There's plenty of room in the truck market for the 1 percenters. Maybe Ch**y can wean the import owners off of those overgrown Subaru Brats and get them in the full size arena...Then when they get done learning what they DON'T like in a full size truck(shovie's HD)...they'll buy the Ford Super Duty next!
