Almost every year ch@!y has more HP than the Fords but still can't out sell them. Very few people that actually use trucks as trucks seem to be able to rely on the GM products. And every so often each company comes up with something different, time will tell if GM can take back some of the market share they lost several years ago. It now goes back to Ford and Dodge to make sure they keep their place and continue to improve. just my $.02

Sorry 'Sweet99chevy' but I am an old GM man and I can tell you, that front end won't cut-it. Gm makes some pretty good 1/2 ton trucks, but they still are in 'catch-up' mode when it comes to 'HD'. Horespower ratings are just that. I notice that they had to go to 8.1 liters to get the torque out of that gas motor, thats gonna generate some brutal fuel mileage. I really am very happy with my 6.8 SD. I get 9 mpg while pulling a 9200 lb. 5th wheel. I seriously doubt that the 8.1 will get 7 with the same load. Also I was and still am very dissapointed with the mild styling change that 'GM' went with, they look too much like the older style. If your going to claim 'new', make it look new. Good Luck to you and keep your eye on '2001' FORD

Cool

Go and read Trailer Life and some of the other RV magazines. They test trucks, apples to apples and you'll see that the Ford and Dodge are way ahead of the GM trucks. All the trailer advertisers show Fords and Dodges too. They know what will pull their trailers with little or no problems.

I just saw about 5 or 6 plow trucks around today. The 99-00 chevy 2500 with the plow looks like the front was draggin on the ground! I seen an 99' F150 4x4 with a Plow, no even saggin! Dodges werent either.

Who would want an Isuzu Diesel in place of a Navastar? Not me!

I looked at the Chevy Silverado site to check it out. I liked the comparison of the 2500 to a Dodge - no mention of a Ford. the compare the Big 8.1 block to the Dodge 5.4L. Will anybody ever actually do a fair unpartial comparison of these trucks. I would love to see a V-10 250 vs. a V-10 2500 vs. a new Chevy 2500 with the big block in a real world comparison. I was not impressed with the pics on the interior or the fit and finish of the Chevy. And let's not get started on the front end suspension. I'll stick to my 2000 F250 SD Lariat with my 6.8L for fit, finish, quality and towing.

Smahoney,

Did you mean Ford 5.4l or Dodge 5.9l?

Move over SuperDuty, there's something meatier?

The only reason I'd move over is because after seeing Ch**y's newest, I'd be laughing too hard to drive!

I'm not just saying that because I drive a SuperDuty, look at that thing! Maybe this is personal taste, but that truck just looks... well, stupid! The last generation of GM trucks were admitedly handsome, but I can't see anything I like about this one. Give the Corvettes, Trans Ams, etc. the swoopy lines, but make the truck look like one.

Just my $.02 worth.
