SD lift vs. leveling kit
My dealer finally validated what I knew from calling the VOPC, my 2000 250SD, 4X4, V-10, Lariat will be here Christmas week! Now to start fixing it up.
I'ld like to "level" out the look of the truck, with the final objective of putting 295's underneath. I thought about 35's, but they don't have the load capacity of the 295's. In the summer I pull a 20 ft 5th wheel trailer during hay season. Any thoughts on a lift kit versus one of the new leveling kits. I'ld like to retain as much of the original ride as possible.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Mike, I have a Y2K F-250 SD SC 4X4 with a V-10. I have the Snowplow package which includes the 5200# front end. My truck sits level right from the factory. I think that the Camper package also has the 5200# front end also. IF you have either of these, your truck will sit nice and level from the factory. Hopefully, this will answer your question. Sure sounds like you have a nice truck coming. Best of luck with it.
My 2000 F250 SC SD with the Trailer Towing and Camper package came in nice and level from the factory. I have been looking at changing out the 265's for 285 or 295 on new Weld 8" rims for the Spring. You don't have to put an additional lift to clear 295/75R16's unless you have the dealer remove the 2" blocks from the Factory.

On the 2000 250 models, there is no need to "level" the truck. These trucks come from the factory with the 2inch blocks. The 350's though still come with the 4inch blocks in the rear like the 99 250's did, these are the trucks that can use the leveling kit. Hope this clears up some confusion. As for the 295's, I would think you could fit them with no lift. I have a buddy with a 00' and he is running 35's with no lift but he also doesn't have any room under the fenders.

As everyone else is saying. Mine is factory level. But I would have liked to have the 4" block in the back instead so I could put a cheap leveler kit on it. Plus I don't really want to go that high.
Do you think I could get the dealer to swap them out? Would they have to change the springs and shocks? anything else?

Thanks for the help. I guess I'll have to wait till next week to see for myself. It's sort of interesting to buy a new vechicle and want to modify it before you buy it. I've got my wife convinced we don't need the old Taurus SHO - more money for mods.
Happy Holidays to all!
