Post I got to order 3-250HD's today!

Its for work but very satifying to be able to spec out and select options etc and call up the lucky dealer and say " I want to order three trucks". Remember these are work trucks so no getting the XLT. Went for the base (XL?) super cabs with 5.4, auto, AM/FM, 3.73 LS, Aircond., 8800 pound GVWR packages in Woodland Green with Medium Parchment interiors. Added rear seats, tilt wheel and speed control.

Does anyone know the curb weight of these things? I am planning on putting Tommy lifts on em so I would like to calculate my left over payload. How long is delivery time? Contract specifies 90-120 days. Think they will make it?

Very satisfying day all in all and to top it off Ford had the state contract to boot! Finally getting rid of the old 85 Dodge that is rusting out from around me.

The registration for my F-250 SD Crew Cab lists the "curb weight" at 5873.
Good luck with the payments.
Make sure you contact the "Fleet Manager" for the best price.
Avoid "Sales" people. They just want a piece of the action.

Yea J-C done that. State Contract pricing all the above with air, cruse, tilt, Am/Fm for $21,272.10. Sound like a good price? Thanks for the weight too. How much would you guess I should deduct for the Super Cab? A couple hundred I am thinking? I was able to line up my F150 SC to a F250 SC last night exactly the same length! F250 has a shorter nose making up for the 3.5 inch wheel base difference. Some of my guys were worried it would be bigger. They are driving Dodge regular cab Long beds now and I showed em they were exacly the same length. Its hard to satisfy everyone with the same truck. I suspect some of them are latent Chevy Lovers!

Cool

cphilip: you asked about delivery dates, I ordered my 250 on Nov 10 and about 2 weeks later I've got a Dec 20 build date. I've "heard" that delivery is about 14 days after build date. Of course I wont really know until I actually have it. I'm also getting woodland green but my husband has seen a couple of the bright amber ones and is leaning for me to change the color. (I don't think so) Your guys that will get the new trucks are sure lucky. Soooo when are you selling your 150 for a 250????

No way Tina! One of these new F250's will be mine anyway. I get to have both! The Wife would kill me anyway. The only thing allowing me to do all these mods is the promise to keep it a while. But, I am interested in, if I ever do switch, moving up to one of these "big un's" now that I know so much more about them. I would go XLT or Lariat however and get all the perks. I still like the syle of the F150 and I got everything in it so.... I will be waiting a while. I already have too much in mods in my old 97 anyway and only 45K right now plus I will be spending time modifying these new ones for a while. That should keep me from getting the bug for a little bit more. Which trim level and motor are you going with? If it had not been for state contract restrictions I would have gone XLT and PSD for these.

Thumbs up

I vaguely remember something like the Crew Cab was 400 pounds heavier than a Regular Cab. Don't know where I heard/read it. But a couple of hundred less than mine would be really close. The "curb weight" does not account for fuel or passengers. With 500 pounds of people and a full (38 gallon) tank, the Public Scale showed my truck at 6700#
How mush does 38 gallons of 87 Octane weigh?

Well assuming it was water (which it isn't)that would be 308 pounds. I can't seem to find my reference for the specific gravity of Gasoline but it is organic so it is lighter than water. So at least lighter than 300 pounds. Anyway J-C thats good stuff and thanks. the spec on mine says "min 25 gal fuel tank". I can assume the tank is also bigger in the crew?

cphilip: I'm getting the XLT PSD 6speed of course It's loaded and upgraded too. Ford offered an upgrade pkg (through dec 31) on this configeration that gave me cab steps, rear privacy glass, am/fm/cassette/cd, 265/75/16 tires and sliding rear window for the impossibly low price of N/C!! that's right up my alley
