Cool 2000 F250 Crew Cab Base Price

Maybe I'm doing too much research - BUT, I went to the local Ford dealer this weekend who told me if I ORDERED a new 2000 F250 CC, he would give it to me for INVOICE + $500.

He listed his base INVOICE price as $26,925. I came home did my research and every car pricing web site listed the exact same INVOICE price; except for one who listed it at $24,312. Did I just come upon a web site with a wrong base INVOICE price.

As for the options, ALL web sites listed the same INVOICE prices for options that he gave me.

I'm thinking of ordering the 250 Crew Cab, 4x4, off-road package, towing package, Class VI hitch, HD suspension, Lariat, V-10, Prvcy glass and shift on fly, CD.

He offered to order the total package for $30,880 +$500 = $31,380 + 3% sales tax for a final leave the lot price (before title & license) of $32,321.92.

Don't forget the dealer hold back. It's usually 3% of dealer invoice. That's $926. Hold back is money that Ford allows so the dealer can pay for advertising and marketing etc. If you order one, It won't be on the lot at all so the dealer just pockets the money. My neighbor just ordered one darn close to yours at $300 over invoice. I'd try to get the salesman to come down a little. $500 isn't too bad (I paid $800, the best deal I could find) but $300 is better.....

I have a very similiar order in and i plan on paying about $28900 (invoice + 2%), but I was tricked into the 4wheel ABS since they told me it was going to be standard on 2000. Since it is not standard, I threw a big fit and got it for no charge (~$300). In addition I am a fresh college graduate, therefore i get another $400 off. So I am actually going to get the truck for a little under invoice.

Now if the damn truck would just get here I will be set.

On ORDER: 2000 250 XLT CC, V10, LWB, Silver, Power Telescoping mirrors due in October.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll go and order it today. I just couldn't find a better deal.

My wife wanted a Land Rover Discovery; but after driving this, I didn't have to do any more convincing. If fact she's the one who went for the SuperDuty. Originally we were going to wait for the F150 Crew Cab.

Thanks.....altec
