FX4 package on F250
FX4 package on F250
Does anyone know what rancho shocks are on the FX4 F250? I looked but the shocks are plain, red and white. (ie 9000's, etc..)
Also, what is included in the 'Trailer towing package'? I have it, but it apperently does not include a trailer hitch!
Any info would be much appreciated.

Slickford....I too have the FX4 package and I was very disappointed to crawl under my truck and see Ford Motorcraft stamped on the shock. I think that they are actually Ford shocks with a sticker on them. I've had Rancho 5000 on my Jeep and these are no Ranchos....
You're right, they are not Ranchos, but look alike shocks. The boots aren't even rubber, they're hard plastic. No better than the shocks that I had on my 99 F250 from the factory. For the towing package, it typically comes with an aux trans cooler (if automatic), preinstalled wiring for a brake controller and trailer plug, 3.73 gears, and typically a reciever hitch.
Thanks for the info on the shocks, that explains the similar feel as far as daily driving. In my F150 if you are crossing train tracks or anything bumpy at a slight turn, the rear end wants to come around really bad, same on the F250. I think a shock upgrade will be in order. At least they look cool.
As far as the tow package, it does have the trans temp guage, aux trans cooler, 3.73 gears, and i think it has the power steering cooler like my F150 had. I was just wondering if I could get a class IV trailer hitch with the "Tow Package" It would help, but I tow a fifth wheel anyway.
Thanks again.
