Cap fit
Cap fit
I'm trying to buy a cap for my truck on Ebay. I have an 04 250 SD CC w/ 8 ft. bed. There are lots of caps out there where the sellers say it will fit a 99-03 250 w/ an 8ft bed. When I send email to discuss it, they invariably claim it will fit my truck too. When I ask for the measurements of the cap, I can usually get a good LxW match, but the height (as measured from the center of the cap) does not match up well with my cab. My truck measures 25.75" at that point. (The caps which they CLAIM will fit, measure roughly 23" at that point.) My question is, are the 04 250s the same "style" as the 98-03 250s, or did the cab style change with the 04 models? I'm having trouble figuring out what's going on here, and I hope I've explained it clearly to you all. I understand you can't really trust what someone says on ebay (as RR said, trust, but verify). I've called a couple of mfg'ers, and they've been helpful, but it seems like there are so many caps out there, it's hard to apply a blanket rule.
Thanks.
PS=I know I know, I could solve the problem by buying a new cap, but I can't justify the cost, since I don't have a daily need for it.

I do know that a a cap for a 97-2003 F-150 will not fit a F-250.
The f-150 cab is moulded into the box.
The f-250, 350 is not.
A older style topper will fit your truck.
Spray paint is cheap, good luck.
