My first thought is the CPS, but when that goes out, you cannot start again until you replace it. Check over at the dieselstop.com and do a search or ask your question.

I'd get it checked by the dealer, but also, as said, try TDS www.thedieselstop.com and look for threads about a wiring harness problem.

I'm assuming since you said you've only had it a month, it's a new one.

i just put a IDM on my 2000 7.3 and it was around 600 from the dealer and labor is very minimal... if you did it yourself it is very easy... i think you might want to get a second price, sounds like the dealer is doing you. good luck sometimes the dealer can be hard to work with. also try replacing the injector harness under the valve covers it is around $150 and when it goes out it will make the truck give off IDM codes (been there broke that) that might be a cheaper way to start off.

For these electronic gizmos on 6.0 and 7.3L engines; if you can verify the part with the problem and view it, it will probably have a Navistar part number. Call local Navistar dealer and get the price and availability for the part you need. Just for reference: 6.0L is a VT365 Navistar and 7.3L is the T444E Navistar engine model designation.

Waterpumps, pulleys, clutch fans and possible idler pulleys will be different from the big NAV. trucks; however, usually have NAV. part numbers on them. I worked at a NAV. dealer for a while--that is how I know. Morale of this story: buy NAVistar diesel engine parts from Navistar--Not Ford and SAVE $$$$$$$$. Sorry FOMOCO--You hose people too much for NAV. engine parts.
