How many miles to expect on a powerstroke

How many miles can one "reasonably" expect to pull out of one of the powerstroke engines? I am looking to switch to diesel, and have only limited knowledge of it. I have heard they last much longer than a gasoline engine.

Also, is the pulling power much greater for the diesel than gas? I have a 250 with a 5.8 and it just does not seem to pull much (well, maybe a ton and a half in the bed) like when I pull my tractor it REALLY does not want to move it (yeah yeah I know the tractor weighs a lot but I would expect more from this big engine.)

Diesel engines are commonly known to outlast the trucks their in, and yes, they do have a lot more torque (i.e. pulling power) than a gas engine.

On the dieselstop a guy had a 2001 with 509,000 miles with out any motor problems. I've got a picture of a speedo shot of a 99 and newer Super Duty with 909,000 miles.

If taken care properly expect an easy 300-400,000 miles

My 2001 screw with the 5.4 was good but this 6.0 is unreal for towing. It doesn't even breath hard up mountains towing and overall is an incredible difference to me. Good mileage, long engine life and 590 foot pounds of torque. Tranny seems to be incredibly strong also. Only downside is the extra cost and oil changes that dent the wallet.

300000 on injectors, 400000-500000 on an overhaul...
