Talking 04 6.0!!!

I just bought a brand spankin' new 04 F-250 CC,SB, Lariat, and it is Dark Shadow Grey. Roof clearnace lights, TT power/heated/signal/running light mirrors, power moonroof, power slider, power everything. I have the power/heated bench seats, and it is much more comfy than my 00 w/ Captain's Chairs. I can not stop smiling!! This is one sweet ride! i LOVE that diesel engine. I went from a V-10, to the 6.0, and I love it. This engine makes mine V-10 feel anemic. (The V-10 is FAR from being anemic!!!) I am so hooked on diesel! I can not believe how quiet it is!! And boy, when you push the go pedal..........

Can we ask what you gave for your new all power toy?? Not counting what they gave you for any trade, just the final price of the 6.0L diesel. I'm sure there are a lot of potential buyers who would like to get the same kind of set-up you have and you would satisfy a lot of curiosity.

Thanks!

Thumbs up SuperDutySPV

Congratulations on your purchase! I've already talked to my dealer about a test drive earily this week. I haven't driven a PSD since I sold my 99 7.3 back in '01. I think the 6.0 has been out long enough that most of the bugs are taken care of. He told me to come and get one, keep it for a day or two and he'd be happy to order exactly what I want.

Enjoy that gray beauty my friend!

I just bought a white/arizona beige King Ranch FX4 with all the same goodies except for the moonroof. Didn't see a need seeing how I never use the ones in our cars. Hopefully, I'll put up some pictures soon. I do have a question for you though, your back sliding glass, how fast does it open and close? Normal or does it seem sluggish? Mine seems to be sort of slow and I don't know if its normal or the seals are really tight or what. I'm going back to the dealership this week and try and find another truck on the lot with the same window to compare. If its slow, they are going to replace the motor I guess, the truck is only a week old so they said it would not be a problem.

As for the other fellows question, The Lariats loaded out here go for about 39,000-40,000 before rebates (this is minus the moonroof). I bought the King Ranch with captain fronts and a bench rear with everything diesel, adj pedals, power slide rear, 6 disc radio, as well as a black powder coated chest tool box, a spray in liner, and a B&M flip up gooseneck hitch for 41, 515 (sticker was 49,700) before rebates and down payment. This price was 3,000 less than everyone else would give me. May be higher in certain places but for that level truck in this part of the country, I felt it was an excellent price. Good luck with your search. GS

My slider seems to go quick. Not sluggish or slow at all.

THANK YOU! I'm headed up to the dealership this week. Mine just seems really slow. If the truck is not running when you use it, you can actually hear the motor making a "unga unga unga" noise. How you like that descripton? Thanks again. GS

I have the same rig. Have 3500 miles on it and it is getting 18 hwy and 12.8 towing. Mine was $45k+ and got it for $36+ net of rebates. Don't know if that was a good deal or not. Very strong and good rig.

Glenn,
I'm getting 18 on the highway and 13.5 towing. On the highway, what speed do you average? I kept mine at about 70 to keep the RPMs under 2000. Thought that would help but I haven't tried it at 75 to see yet. Seems like I ALWAYS have a trailer behind me lately. I've only had it about 3 weeks though. So I guess time will tell. Thanks. GS

Wheel-You hit the nail there. I go 80 on highway with or without boat and zero to 60 in town and hammer it pretty good at every stop. I know I get much better mpg taking it easy but just seem to have little control over my foot. My rpm is just over 2200 most of the highway stuff.

Don't be so rough on the new boy Thanks, its good to know that there really isn't a big difference in keeping it "just" under 2000 or actually running 75 and barely being over 2000. Still trying to figure this thing out. Thanks again. GS

You guys are making me so jealous.... AHHH!!! I want that SuperDuty!! I just can't justify that much truck... not to mention it would fit in my garage by mere inches... it would fit though.
