No.
The F250 LD, that has the same bodystyle as the newer F150s, ran from 97-99. In 2000 the F250 LD became the F150 7700 GVWR.

Thanks 36fan, that seems to clear it up. Its bed seems to be different, at least at the bed rails.

I believe what you're talking about is the 97-98 F-250 Light Duty that used the exact same body as the "new" (1997) F-150. You can tell if you have one of these bad boys by the 7 lug wheels which are unique to that truck. This truck is still sold today as the F-150 7700 package. I'm not sure if they have a similar model in the new 2004 F-150 though. If this is indeed your truck, the bed from any 1997-2004 (Heritage Edition only for 2004) will fit.

one other thing I forgot to mention...

plastic taigate handle or chrome? with locking tailgate or without?

93 to 98 250's with old style tailgate had chrome/grey steel handle and no lock.

97 & up 250 light duty had plastic handles with tailgate locks.
