Commercial Humour

The other night my boys are sitting with me watching CSI. The Chey commercial for the HD comes on. The one with the tractor stuck in the mud in the city. The commercial goes on talking about the HD with the "Big Block V-8" and the Allison Tranny. My youngest son who will be 12 the end of this month turns towards me with a sly grin and asks " Does your truck have that?" I answer somewhat solemnly at first "No", " Mines got a big block V-10! and start laughing" Granted the 10 isn't considered a big block by the old standards but what can ya say. He sat back and said "OH".

That commercial is funny, and fake...

I believe that a street truck, with street tires is going to pull a tractor out of the mud...

Anybody else think its funny that all of the sudden chebbys are talking about torque, when they used to say its all HP? I know indy cars have 800 hp but they won't pull my boat.

Another I have seen lately is a chevy out running a new style 2004 F150, they don't show the ford close enough to show emblems on it, but its pretty obvious, they claim they have the "the most horsepower in it's class", I thought the Chevy 327ci engine only had 290hp, and the ford 330ci had 300hp, maybe I am wrong.

GM's Fuzzy Math

You are right, gm is just using some "fuzzy math" in the words of G.W. Bush. Thats problably the commercial I am thinking of, its a new gmc commercial saying, "GM has most standard V8 horsepower in its class, even more than the new F150." I just think its funny that people buy into that thinking that gm has the most power overall, when the 5.4 has the 5.3 vortec beat by a few horses but even alot more torque.

Lightbulb Fuzzy Math

The key word in the commercial is "standard HP". The "standard 04 F150 engine is the 4.6L (or in the case of the Heritage which is still an '04 it's the 4.2L)

You don't even need a Ford to free the tractor in that ad.
Any operator worth a s*** would just walk his way out with the loader bucket.
It seems chebbie is trying to say that dummies drive chebbies.
