Should I do it?

Hey guys...I really need your input here. I currently own a 2001 F150 supercrew. It has 31,000 miles, and is in near perfect condition.

A dealer near me has a used 2001 F250 superduty for sale. It is a crew cab, short bed, same color as mine with a powerstoke diesel. I am considering trading my truck in on it, but the one thing holding me back is the PSD has 101,000 miles on her. The interior is like new, and the exterior has a few minor dings, but otherwise the truck looks and drives well.

Both are Lariats, and both are 4x4.

Would you be willing to trade for the PSD, or stay with the one you have?

Any objective opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would think anyone that would trade a nice low milege truck in on a high milege truck is out of there mind. I know powerstrokes are known to last forever but you have to keep in mind that the truck your looking at is out of warrenty. 5yr-10,0000. So any repairs are on you. Now even is the motor has no problems you still have a truck with 100,000 miles on it. Anything can happen. My opinion keep your truck or look for a stroker with less miles on it.

The SCRew is out as well...although the 4X4 hubs are a problem...

The SD is broken in now..If it has been taken care of it will probably be OK...

I have both..they are both out of warantee...I dont mind..I even modify them both...

Also 4X4's are higher maint..vehicles...

I wont lie to you, the SD is more to maintain...

I love my 7.3 though...It ROCKS...

Are you kidding?

Trade a vehicle with 31,000 miles on it, for one with 101,000 miles on it.

Is this a trick question?

I would only consider something so......drastic, if the vehicle I was going to get was:

Mercedes S420, S430, S500, LS400, LS430, 740iL, 745Li, 850Csi.

Other than that, the SuperCrew would stay.

I've known folks who used that logic to buy high milage exotics i.e. Mercedes, Hondas etc AND GOT BURNED.

The core of the engine may last but everything else goes. High milage is high milage.
