Any body put electric fan in SD?

Just wondering if the electric fan idea would work in an SD. Do they push/pull enough air? Or are they just less reliable?

Which engine???

There are some people down here running the PSD with no Fan!!!

Just have to watch the A/C, to make sure air is running accross it, or shut the A/C off at idle, I personally saw one idle on a 90 degree day for an hour, didn't even get hot!!!

I am going to remove my fan...

Sorry about that gas 5.4 It seems alot of the 150's have done it and was looking for a set up that works in the SD's.

Steve, where you located??? We in Texas run some of the diesels with NO fans...

Summit has a 2250 CFM fan for $110 that would be enough...

Just need to have air across the condensor coils...

I am in Md. We don't get heat like you guys in Texas. I think I might pick up the kit from the superchip distrubuter. I recently sold my boat and won't be getting any more horses until next year so I won't be towing much more than my tractor, and thats only once a month or so. I was going to get the diesel in this truck but couldn't find a 7.3 and I didn't want the new 6.0 until it has been out for a year or so.

Steve, you did good then, they have just now worked the bugs out of the 6 liter..I know a lot of people that got Ford to buy them back...

They are pretty stable now, although it doesn't have the low end grunt that the 7.3 has, now it does have more horses at the top end, and will get it there..

I am waiting for the Camless for my next...

I think I will keep this truck for about 5-7 years and see where we are as far as engines. I think I am doing great as far as mpg. I am getting between 13.2 and 14.3 for milage with the 5.4. In my older (87) F150 with the 302 I averaged about 10 mpg over the 160K I put on it in 12 years I had it.

Sounds like good luck with the ford...

I get 18+, to 19+, not bad for 400hp rear wheel, the Mustangs dont like me...

But this truck will haul anything...

The Camless is going to be awesome, they have three of them out since 2000, putting several thousand highway real miles on them...supposed to be out in 06/07...I will buy one of them...

Cam-less is no camshaft, no lifters, no cam drive, no push rods, no rocker rms,

The valve train(whats left) would be hydraulically controlled, and electronically activated..

Ck this 168 less moving parts...

A programmers dream come true...variable valve timming on the fly with switchs..Exhaust brake, pollution control, power beyond comprehension..

Kind of how the injectors are controlled in the diesels...
