new mufflers

I bought a 2001 F-250 with the 5.4 V8 and was wondering what would be a good muffler to upgrade to mainly for sound and performance but I don't want it to be too loud at highway speeds thank you for any help Harry

I have always been told that the Gibson swept-side is a nice cat-back system, both in terms of sound and improved torque. I was going to put one on my '00 before it was totalled.

My dad's F250 SuperDuty has a Flowmaster 40 series deltaflow and it sounds awesome!! Kept the stock piping and used a SI/SO Offset In/Out and a piece of 3" pipe to make up the difference. Nice bark at startup, mellow idle, deep and powerful on acceleration and quiet when cruising.
