Coon64's New Ride

Well folks, it's official, I'm in!!!

I picked my new truck up Friday afternoon. Got home from work, went to the bank and signed the papers for the loan, then went to the dealership to pick it up.

What I got:

2003 F-250
Lariat
7.3L Auto
Dark Shadow Grey
FX4
Crew Cab
Short Bed
Camper Package
Captians Chairs
Chrome Steps
Electronic Shift on the Fly
Adjustable Gas and Brake Pedals
6 Disk in Dash Changer

(Basically everything but Reverse Sensor and Sun Roof)

Sorry I don't have any pic's yet, but I will put them up as soon as I take some.

I have to say, it feels good to hear the sound of diesel under my hood when I punch it. And everybody knows you can't beat the whistle from the turbo.

YA BABY!
Nice Truck! As much as I love the 6.0L, I wish I could have found a 7.3L with that $4000 rebate. Get a MicroTuner from Mike Troyer and that truck will be a Monster!

Congrats!

Hi C64
Congrats on new ride. I know the feeling

Bikenut....Not that it matters...but just passing on what i call trivia...dealers ive done business with both Ca/Nv..seem about same. I think Ca/Nv are emission certified same.

JW Ford in Reno NV. (truck country)...had 7.3L PSD...that were heavily discounted because 03 were out. I looked at them...but not what i wanted. Then last Wed. when i picked up my new 03 6L...dealer said he still had a bunch of 7.3 PSD..he cant move...hence big time bargain prices...he said about all he was selling now..6L off lot plus factory orders like mine. I suspect around invoice...maybe less on the 7.3L Of course they will sell them.

I dont know if it was combo. 02 + early 03 7.3L..was a bunch. But...this is last planned truck for me...so i got it the way i wanted it...but $$$ Got terrible pen cramp in right hand/fingers
Sure like this truck. However..am keeping me fingers crossed, if you know what i mean.

Good luck to all. Keep on truckin! OT

Here is a pic of my new truck.

As soon as I can figure out how to shrink them, I'll put some more pic's up.

Beautiful truck!!! Great choice on color and everything else!!

My hubby and I are currently in the market for one, and we have been looking at the F250, 4x4, long bed, trucks. My favorite color is that Dark Shadow Grey, but it seems to be very hard to find! We can find plenty of Oxford White and that bright blue color, but nothing in the Grey We have some time still, so we are still looking! My hubby also prefers the black leather interior....it's really impressive!

Enjoy it

Nice ride coon! Good choice on the DSG.

NaviGirl - if you are looking at used, you will have to go '02+ to find DSG on the SD. It wasn't an available color choice prior to the '02 model year, which is why you don't see as many of them on the road.

Thanks, I am aware of that. We have been looking at 2003's, and none of the dealerships near here have the DSG with the black leather we like

The hunt continues....

I know the joy you are feeling. Just got my truck last Friday. It's a '00 F-350 Crew Cab, Powerstroke, Long Bed, Dually, and I LOVE IT!! I love to hear and smell that diesel. I don't have a single thing to tow or to haul....I just like to drive that big truck! You can tell it's me going down the road. I'm the one with the tremendously humongous smile on my face.........

OK - just didn't want you to be looking for a needle (that doesn't exist) in the haystack!

How far are you willing to travel, and how do you want it rigged out? I know at least one of our local dealers has a CC 4x4 DSG w/black leather.

Well, we aren't positive that he has the job yet, which will require a heavy duty truck like this. However, we are in Florida, and only willing to travel about 50 miles either direction for one. We found one in Ft. Lauderdale (4 hours south) with everything he likes, which would be a possibility, since all of our family is down there, we could take a little "trip" to see them and pick it up

I know he wants the long bed (8ft?), black leather package, automatice shift on the fly, 6.0L, diesel, 4x4, Lariat, skid plates, and prefers the Crew Cab as well.

Thanks for your help

Ah - therein lies the problem. You need to check - but I believe that the black leather is only available on the XLT as a part of the "XLT Sport" package. I am pretty sure that your only choices without getting that package are parchment or flint.

To recap: What you need to be looking for is a Crew Cab XLT in DSG with the XLT Sport pkg, 8' bed, 4x4, 6.0L, FX4 pkg (or skid plate pkg), and ESOF.

Will be a very nice truck when you find it.
